Another suspect pleaded guilty today in connection with a conspiracy that authorities said led to the slaying of Brian K. Carson.
Ryan King pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder. In return for King's cooperation, prosecutors dropped a first-degree murder charge.
King, who faces up to 50 years in prison, is the fourth of eight suspects to enter guilty pleas in connection with Carson's death.
Ryan K. Carson is accused of plotting to kill his father out of anger that his father beat Teresa Carson, Ryan's mother, and had sex with Nicole Walker, Ryan's girlfriend. Both women have pleaded guilty to accessory charges.
Prosecutors said King didn't strike Carson but did help plan the attack in Carson's home.
Carson's body was found April 5 in the trunk of his car. The vehicle was abandoned in a muddy field in northwest Douglas County.
