Women's Basektball: Mavs suffer 1st loss

WARRENSBURG, Mo. — The University of Nebraska at Omaha women's basketball team dropped its first game of the season, falling 57-45 against Minnesota-Duluth on Friday at the Central Missouri Jennies Classic.

Alyssa Green made 7 of 9 free throws to lead UNO with 11 points, but the Mavs shot just 24 percent from the field.

The Mavericks scored the first points of the game off a layup by Green but never led again. The Bulldogs led by 10 at the 5:31 mark of the first half and by 11 at halftime.

Green led UNO with three assists and five steals.

The Mavs (1-1) will continue at UCM today at noon against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
