Wrestling: UNO adds another recruit

« Mavs

Two-time state champion Josh Keszler of Sturgis, S.D., has joined a UNO recruiting class that includes Boys Town star Kevin Barrett.

Keszler (159-11) was a state champion at 112 pounds as a freshman and at 119 last year. He was the state runner-up at 103 as an eighth-grader and at 125 as a sophomore, and he has been part of three state title teams.

He is a three-time All-American in the high school nationals, including a second-place finish last year and a third-place finish as a freshman.

Barrett, who signed last week, is a three-time Class B state champion who was 105-3 with 78 pins in his prep career, with 83 straight wins. He won the 189-pound title last year after twice winning at 215.

He was a junior national high school national champion as a junior and placed second last year.

A quarterback on Boys Town’s football team, Barrett is ineligible for high school wrestling this winter because of the timing of his arrival at Boys Town.
