HUMBOLDT, Iowa (AP) — Officials in Humboldt say the police chief has been suspended pending an investigation into alleged misuse of driver's license and criminal history information.
City Administrator Lorie Bennett says state investigators have launched an inquiry into the actions of Police Chief Matthew Dominick. He was suspended Monday for up to 30 days.
A Division of Criminal Investigations spokeswoman wouldn't comment.
Humboldt Mayor Walter Jensen says Dominick is accused of releasing information about someone's driving history and criminal history.
On Friday, Dominick referred questions to his lawyer, who wasn't available.
Dominick oversaw a department of six officers.
