WARRENSBURG, Mo. — The University of Nebraska at Omaha women's basketball team suffered its second straight loss Saturday, falling 71-66 to Texas A&M-Kingsville on the final day of the Central Missouri Jennies Classic.
Heather Pohl led UNO (1-2) with 14 points, including three 3-pointers, and Alyssa Green added 12 points. Kiley Herold and Jessica Zaruba came off the bench to score 10 points each.
Herold hit a pair of free throws at 4:48 of the second half to bring the Mavericks within four points. But the Javelinas scored four straight points after that, and UNO missed its final five shots.
The Mavericks scored the first seven points of the game, but the Javelinas gained control at the 10:59 mark of the first half and never trailed again.
