Sunday's shooting outside Cheaters marked the second time in less than 48 hours that an Omaha police officer shot someone.
Friday afternoon, Officer Josiah Warren shot a 15-year-old boy near 84th and G Streets. The boy allegedly fired a gun at officers as he ran from a traffic stop. Warren returned fire, striking the boy in the chest.
The teen was listed in critical but stable condition Sunday at the Nebraska Medical Center.
Warren has been placed on paid administrative leave during an investigation. Oficer Justin Knapp, who initiated the traffic stop, was also briefly placed on administrative duty but returned to active duty Sunday, said Officer Jacob Bettin, a police spokesman.
