Woman charged fatal stabbing

LINCOLN — Lincoln police say a 31-year-old man has died of stab wounds he received in an altercation with a woman.

Capt. Jim Thoms said Christopher Grant died after being taken to a hospital from a Lincoln apartment building shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday.

Thoms said a 35-year-old woman was booked on suspicion of first-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony. Thoms said Sunday that Lisa Ramirez-Rodriguez was booked before Grant died and that charges could be upgraded.

Records show Ramirez-Rodriguez was denied a domestic abuse protection order against Grant in 2007. Thoms declined to comment on the nature of their relationship.

Grant's criminal record included convictions for domestic assault, assault, theft and disturbing the peace. — AP
