Catching up with with Ryan Hill

Nebraska's sophomore tight end heads home this week when the Huskers travel to Colorado. Hill graduated from Arvada (West), Colo., in suburban Denver. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Hill has two catches for a total of 8 yards this season, but one was a short touchdown reception in Nebraska's 10-3 win over Oklahoma.

Q: Is there a little more excitement for you this week going back to Colorado?

A: It's high emotions and stuff being able to go back home and play in front of a bunch of people that you know. But any game you go into is emotional. It's just another game that we have to go into and get a win.

Q: Were you a Colorado fan growing up?

    No. Never. Not at all.

    Q: Did you watch them?

A: I always watched them. The game I used to watch a lot was between Nebraska and Colorado. Nebraska was always the team I wanted to have win.

Q: How does that happen, a Colorado kid rooting for NU?

A: I don't know how it happened. Things just happen. And that's how it came out.

Q: Do you have memories of watching those games?

A: Just that Nebraska was known for their rough and hard-nosed football and it was just fun to watch the games. Back then they were extraordinary.

Q: So Nebraska is where you were always going to be?

A: Yeah, this is where I was always going to go.

Q: As a guy that grew up in Colorado, how much does altitude play into a game in Colorado?

A: It's a little bit of a factor. But anywhere you go you have certain factors that you have to deal with. It's just another factor there.
