    McCray's season finished

6:05 p.m.: LINCOLN -- More bad news for the Nebraska basketball team.

Sophomore Toney McCray's season is over. He will undergo surgery soon for a torn left elbow ligament and a partially torn triceps tendon suffered in a summer pickup game.

The 6-foot-6 wing from Missouri City, Texas, tried to play with his arm heavily bandaged. Through three games, he averaged 6.3 points and 4.0 rebounds.

But continuing pain and numbness led to his decision to have surgery, which will require a five- to six-month recovery.

McCray is the second potential starter to go down for the year with an injury. Center Christopher Niemann (torn ACL) is the other.

The Huskers tip off in about 45 minutes against UMKC.
