Man killed in crash ID'd

SUTTON, Neb. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a 46-year-old man who died after his car collided with a tractor-trailer at a rural Clay County intersection.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that Jay Kenney of Sutton was driving his car south Monday afternoon when it collided with the eastbound truck. It was being driven by 68-year-old Richard Ebert of rural Sutton.

Accident investigators suspect the drivers didn't see each other because of the foggy, hazy conditions.

Kenney was pronounced dead at the scene. Ebert was taken to a Hastings hospital for treatment, then released.
