SCOTTSBLUFF — A Mitchell man faces felony charges in a shooting early Monday.
Cody Barge, 23, has been charged with terroristic threats, use of a firearm to commit a felony and third-degree domestic assault.
According to an arrest affidavit, Barge shot at his ex-girlfriend and a male friend.
According to the arrest affidavit, Barge’s ex-girlfriend told police she and Barge had broken up the week before but were still living together. She and her male friend had been at a bar when Barge came to the bar. She refused to speak to him, and he left.
Later, she told police that she had lied to Barge about her whereabouts, and he called and texted her. Her male friend shouted his address, and Barge came to the residence. She and the man went outside to speak with Barge, who got out of his vehicle with a gun. He allegedly told the man to leave him with his ex-girlfriend, but the man refused to leave.
Barge is accused of shooting at the man’s doghouse. He continued to argue with the girl and the man, and discharged his weapon at their feet. Barge left the property as the two called police. He was arrested after police pulled him over.
Barge was being held on bail of $900,000.
