Sarah Jane Bowden and Angela Hlavaty are among three Midlands players who helped the Southern Mississippi volleyball team clinch its first Conference USA regular-season title.
Bowden, a sophomore from Sioux City North, notched 239 kills in leading the Golden Eagles in hitting percentage (.289) and blocks (116).
Hlavaty, a senior from Lincoln Lutheran, crossed the career 1,000-kill mark this season and was named first-team all-conference. Brianna Arvin, a freshman from Omaha Burke, played in 42 sets and contributed 41 blocks as a reserve.
