This Thanksgiving weekend Joslyn Art Museum will offer free admission as a thank you to the community for its support in 2009.
Guests will get the chance to view the permanent collection galleries as well as the special exhibitions currently on display, including “The Dorothy and Herbert Vogel Collection: Fifty Works for Fifty States” and “Arte Popular: Mexican Folk Art from the Collection of Pat and Judd Wagner.”
Visitors also are encouraged to view the museum's new Discovery Garden.
The free admission times are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Holiday sights, sounds will surround you
View the holidays in full dome.
The Mueller Planetarium at the University of Nebraska State Museum will open “Holiday Music Magic” this weekend, a new show featuring holiday musical classics and full-dome visual presentation.
“Holiday Music Magic” features songs from the Eurythmics, Mannheim Steamroller, Chuck Berry, Burl Ives, Brenda Lee and more, all presented with 3-D artistic animation and scenery in the domed theater.
The show opens on Saturday and will run on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. and Thursdays at 7 p.m. through Jan. 10. The planetarium is in Morrill Hall, south of 14th and Vine Streets on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln City Campus.
Admission is $8 for adults, $5.50 for children 5 to 18, and $2.50 for kids 4 and younger.

This weekend and through Jan. 10, Arbor Day Farm's Tree Adventure in Nebraska City will feature the Great Reindeer Chase.
The attraction will give guests a chance to track down all nine of Santa's reindeer, including the most famous red-nosed creature of all time, Rudolph, through the winter woods.
By following clues and a map, visitors will spot reindeer hidden along the trails, across a creek bed and in the meadow of the Tree Adventure.
Kids also can take advantage of bird-viewing stations along the trails and will get a chance to craft their own pine cone ornament.
The Reindeer Chase, part of the Tree Adventure's Winter Woods Celebration, is included with admission: Adults are $6.50, children 4 through 12 are $4.50, and children 3 and under are free.

Immerse kids in Christmas cheer
Santa even makes it to the berry farm.
This weekend marks the opening of the Bellevue Berry Farm's Christmas in the Country, a seasonal celebration from Saturday through Dec. 23.
The farm will feature visits with Santa, hayrack rides through the North Pole Pines lights display, storytelling, puppet shows and crafts for the kids, a gingerbread house contest and much more.
Carolers will stroll the grounds providing seasonal music, and every Sunday afternoon a live nativity scene will be on display.
Admission to the farm is $8 per person, and it's free for children 2 and under. The family deal is $25 for a family of four, and $5 for each additional person.
The Bellevue Berry Farm is on 48th Street between Highway 370 and Cornhusker Road. Hours are 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays, noon to 7 p.m. on Sundays and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Dec. 21, 22 and 23.
