LINCOLN (AP) — Officials at the county-run nursing home in Lincoln have shared with the state their plans for fixing patient-care problems.
Gwen Thorpe is interim administrator for Lancaster Manor. She says the home expects to be in compliance with state expectations by the middle of next month.
And she says the plans include provisions to ensure the problems won’t recur.
The state placed the home on probation after finding problems that included failures to protect residents from accidents.
Investigators also found that home staffers failed to treat repeated injuries of one resident and attend to the hygiene needs of two others.
Earlier this week, the state auditor said the home had lost more than $2 million in the past two years. He blamed mismanagement.
