Grant to help treat kids’ teeth

Nebraska wins $1.5M grant for dental care program

LINCOLN (AP) — The state of Nebraska says it has been given a three-year federal grant of nearly $1.5 million to improve dental care for children under 8 years old.

Jackie Miller with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services says the money will help the state encourage families “to have a dental home for their children.”

A dental home means a child will have a dentist who is familiar with the child’s teeth and dental history.

The money also will help pay for educating parents about dental care for their children.
