LINCOLN --- State Sen. Dave Pankonin of Louisville announced Tuesday that he will seek a second four-year term in the Nebraska Legislature.
Pankonin, whose family has a farm implement dealership in Louisville, was elected in 2006 to serve the district that covers Cass County, and parts of northeast Otoe and southern Sarpy Counties.
“Serving the constituents of this district has been a truly rewarding experience," Pankonin said in a press release.
The senator serves as chairman of the Legislature's Retirement Systems Committee. He has been active in passing legislation to fund the Nebraska Lied Main Street Program that has helped communities in his district, and in trying to work out a compromise route for a hike-bike trail planned between Wabash and South Bend.
No other candidates have yet to file to oppose Pankonin in the 2010 primary election.
