Christmas at Boys Town: 7:45 p.m. Sunday tree-lighting ceremony and arrival of Santa Claus by firetruck. Three Nativity scenes will be displayed through Jan. 6. Tours of the Father Flanagan House during Boys Town's annual Irish Christmas, Monday through Dec. 13. The Father Flanagan House, 14151 Grodinsky Circle, is decorated with traditional Irish Christmas decorations and will be open for tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. Historic Homes Holiday Tour in Council Bluffs: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. The Council Bluffs Historic Preservation Alliance will host the tour of five historic Bluffs homes decked out in Christmas finery. The addresses are 200 Park Ave., 211 Park Ave., 223 Park Ave., 528 Clark Ave. and 203 Fifth Ave. Tour tickets, $15 per person or $25 for two, will be available at the houses.

Holiday Concert in Norfolk: 7 p.m. Monday in the Lifelong Learning Center at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Neb. The college's holiday offering.

Holiday Choral Concert in Kearney: 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Luke Episcopal Church in Kearney, Neb. The concert, free and open to the public, includes the University Men's Chorus, the University Women's Chorus and the UNK Vocal Collegium, all from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Each choir will perform songs related to the holidays. Vocal and instrumental soloists will perform throughout the concert.

Christmas at the Frahm House in Fort Calhoun: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 220 S. 15th St. in Fort Calhoun, Neb. The home is decorated for the holidays, with each room having a different theme. Other holiday activities throughout the month at the house and museum. Go to www.newashcohist.org for schedule.

Christmas Past & Present at Stuhr Museum in Grand Island: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 11-12; 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 13. Event lets visitors enjoy a lantern-lit Railroad Town during the holidays, with horse-drawn wagon rides, Christmas carols and the smells and tastes of holiday baking. The Stuhr Building's “Fantasy of Trees” exhibit also is open. Admission: $8 for adults, $6 for children. Stuhr and Hastings Museum members are admitted free. For more information, call 308-385-5316.

“Journey Into Christmas” Holiday Open House in Elmwood: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays in December at the Bess Streeter Aldrich House, 204 East F St., in Elmwood, Neb. Decorated for the holidays. Décor changes each year. Admission: $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12. Children younger than 6 are free. There is a $1 discount for AAA members.

Merry Main Street in Beatrice: Saturdays through Dec. 19. Shopping, Santa Claus and special events, including movies. Santa's Workshop features Santa or his helpers plus games, prizes, drawings and treats.

Santa's Workshop at McCook Community College: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday in True Hall gym on the campus. Participants will be able to decorate their own Christmas cookie, have their picture taken with Santa, make holiday crafts and play carnival games.

Winter Escape at Sheldon Museum of Art: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the museum on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln City Campus. Appetizers, cash bar and music Friday. Refreshments, music and art-making stations Saturday. Events are free and open to the public.
