    NEBRASKA VS. TEXAS

    Tracking the defense

    NU STAR

Little debate that Ndamukong Suh did what he wanted Saturday night. The senior defensive tackle was as dominant as ever on his biggest stage of the season. He had 12 tackles, 4½ sacks and seven tackles for loss. Unbelievable numbers in a game of this magnitude.

    HIGHLIGHT

On Texas’ third offensive play from scrimmage, defensive end Pierre Allen tipped Colt McCoy’s pass at the line of scrimmage. The ball hung up in the air long enough for Eric Hagg to intercept it. The play set the tone for the game.

    BUSTED PLAYS

Take your pick between two critical pass interference penalties. Eric Hagg got called for one in the end zone on third down, leading to Texas’ second quarter touchdown. Prince Amukamara was flagged in the third quarter, setting up the Longhorns’ field goal.

    OUR TAKE

The Blackshirts dominated high-powered Texas like no other defense this season. They forced key turnovers and caused enough disruption to frazzle the nation’s 11th-best offense. Even Heisman hopeful Colt McCoy never got going. Much of the game, Nebraska looked quicker and more athletic, an accomplishment against a top-level team like Texas.
