Video: Postgame press conference:
What more can Suh do?
Ndamukong Suh won the Heisman Trophy last night. OK, he should have won it. OK, he solidified my vote — and a lot of other folks' votes, too. He was that good. It was like his Missouri performance, only better and on a bigger stage, with a national audience and everyone judging McCoy. The signature moment was Suh flinging McCoy to the turf. If Suh were an offensive player, they would be saying a great player stepped up and took control of the big game and deserves the Heisman. But will Suh even get enough votes to make top five and get a trip to New York? If he doesn't, just call off the ceremony.
Jerry did this thing right
Cowboys Stadium was a huge success, at least from my vantage point. It's beautiful and glitzy and clean and all those things. It also looked like a heck of a place to enjoy a football game. The star of the show, of course, was the monster alien ship video board. If you were there, you watched the game on that instead of focusing on the field. It was like being in your living room, that is, if your wife charges $10 for nachos. They can bring this game back here as often as they like.
I bet 'bama is not scared
It will be very interesting to see how the voters treat Texas overnight. I expect Texas to get in the BCS title game. Sure, they won, er, survived. But the way they won and the way their star, Colt McCoy struggled, and their lack of clock management at the end will raise questions and open the debate on whether TCU, Cincinnati or even Boise State should get a crack at 'Bama. I don't know. Texas sure played a soft schedule. I can't imagine TCU isn't as good. I know this: If Texas gets the votes and makes it with a comfortable margin, it means the voters respect Nebraska again because they will have given the Horns a break for having played against a great defense.
