“A Small Town Christmas” Concert in Fremont: 7 p.m. Monday at Kimmel Theatre on the campus of Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Neb. SimpleGifts will perform this benefit concert for Fremont Low Income Ministry. Tickets are free but must be picked up in advance at TierOne Bank, First State Bank's main branch or American National Bank, all in Fremont. Call 941-6516 for more information. A free-will offering will be taken during the concert. Suggested donation is $15.

President's Holiday Gala Concert at Wayne State College: 2 p.m. Sunday in Ramsey Theatre on the campus in Wayne, Neb. Concert opens the 10th annual Black and Gold performing arts series. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will include the Madrigal Singers, Concert Choir, Jazz Ensemble, WSC Chorale, Wind Ensemble and faculty and staff performers.

National Poinsettia Day Observance at Lauritzen Gardens: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at First and Bancroft Streets. Docents will answer questions about poinsettias and the poinsettia show. Poinsettia coloring sheets for the kids. First 100 visitors will receive free poinsettias (limit one per family) in honor of National Poinsettia Day.

Wreaths Across America Observances in Nebraska: 11 am. Saturday at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska Veterans Home Cemetery in Grand Island, Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha, Pawnee City Cemetery and Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine. Patriot Guard Riders will assist with Nebraska ceremonies. More than 16 years ago, the Worcester Wreath Co. began placing wreaths on the headstones at Arlington National Cemetery during the holidays. Now the wreath-laying is nationwide.

Holiday Piano Concert at Wilson Performing Arts Center in Red Oak: 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Red Oak, Iowa. Pat Dunbar and Larry Mannasmith in concert. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students. Breakfast With Santa and Holiday Craft Fair With the Stepper-ettes: 8 a.m. to noon Saturday for breakfast, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for craft fair, both at the Stepper-ettes baton and dance studio, 10925 Harrison St. The all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast is $5, and tickets are available at the door. Events are fundraisers for the Stepper-ettes national baton and pom team.

Meet Santa Claus at RailsWest Museum: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the RailsWest Museum, 16th Avenue and South Main Street in Council Bluffs. Just $3 each to enter the Rock Island Depot and model train display. Children 5 and younger get in free. Rail yard is an additional fee, weather permitting.
