Youth dance group to perform in Roca

A youth dance group from Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Lincoln will present “Trong Com” to the children, parents and staff of Prairie Hill Learning Center in Roca, Neb., on Sunday at the Montessori school's Fine Arts Experience and Holiday Party.

The dancers, girls ages 10 to 14, are members of a church that serves the Vietnamese population in Lincoln. They will dress in traditional costumes for the appearance.

The performance will help prepare the Prairie Hill students who will represent Vietnam at a Montessori Model United Nations session in New York City from March 1-3.

Today, the dance group's leader, Hang Bui, will visit Prairie Hill to introduce the students to the music, costumes and the story of a dance that represents the work of the farmer.
