Council Bluffs police are looking for a bank robber who helped himself to some cash after threatening a teller with a hatchet.
The robber entered the Frontier Savings Bank at 509 23rd Ave. about 2 p.m. Monday and talked to the teller. The robber pulled out the short-handled ax and moved toward the teller, who backed away, police said.
No bank employees or customers were injured.
Witnesses described the robber as white, standing 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-9, 170 to 180 pounds, wearing a tan long coat to his knees with a shorter jacket over the first, along with glasses and a dark ski mask.
Bluffs police asked anyone with information about the robbery to call the department or Crime Stoppers at 328-STOP.
