Government offices and other public services will follow these schedules for the Christmas holiday:
Federal offices: Closed Friday
State offices: Closed Friday in Nebraska and Iowa
County offices: Closed Friday in Douglas and Pottawattamie Counties. Sarpy County offices will close at noon Thursday and will be closed all of Friday.
City offices: Closed Friday in Omaha, Ralston, La Vista and Bellevue. Papillion city offices will close at noon Thursday and will be closed all of Friday. Council Bluffs city offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Courts: State courts in Nebraska and Iowa and district courts in Douglas and Pottawattamie Counties will be closed Friday. Sarpy County District Court will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Mail: No delivery Friday.
Parking meters: Coins not needed Friday.
Garbage collection: Garbage and recyclable collection in Omaha and Council Bluffs for Friday will be delayed one day.
Newspaper: Morning delivery only to all World-Herald subscribers Thursday and Friday.
Utilities: MUD and OPPD offices will be closed Friday. OPPD will close at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Libraries: All libraries will be closed Friday. On Thursday, libraries will close in Council Bluffs at 1 p.m., in Omaha at 3 p.m. and in Bellevue at 5 p.m.
MAT: Buses will not run Friday.
