Roads and weather allowing, I'm headed to San Diego on Saturday for the Holiday Bowl. This is the bowl that I half-jokingly root for when the season kicks off each August. I spent the first several years of my life in Escondido, Calif., about 30 minutes from downtown SD. For the last 25 years, and now thanks in part to an understanding wife, I go to San Diego every summer for a guy's trip. We go to an event called "Over The Line.'' I can't describe it in full because this is a family Web site. Anyway, I'm still a big Bolts fan. I'm "charged up'' about this one. Being that the Holiday Bowl is dropping in the Big 12 pecking order, and the Bo Pelini's are moving up, this might be the last one for a while.
I'll send you post cards from San Diego. Too bad the Chargers aren't home.
