Snow hampers Ashland fire crews

By JOEL FULTON
World-Herald Staff Writer

Three buildings caught fire this morning in Ashland, Neb.

The fire started in an old dance studio at 1310 Silver St. and spread to two other buildings before 5 a.m.

Ashland firefighters arrived on foot due to large snow drifts. They are still at the scene, an Ashland police spokesman said.

There were no reports of injuries. Damage estimates were unknown.

Assistance from fire departments in Gretna, Waverly, Lincoln and Yutan has been requested. Omaha fire crews were unable to provide help due to the weather conditions.
