Nebraska’s Morgan Marlborough has landed a spot on Soccer America’s All-Freshman first team, the first Husker to gain that honor since Lindsay Eddleman in 1996.
The Lee’s Summit, Mo., native also has been invited to the USA under-20 national team training camp in Gainesville, Fla., from Jan. 2-9.
Marlborough was named the Big 12 offensive player and rookie of the year after compiling one of the best freshman seasons in league and school history. She led the conference in scoring with 21 goals and added seven assists (49 points), totals that rank fourth and fifth on the NU single-season records chart.
Marlborough ended the regular season tied for third in the NCAA in goals and points and was recently named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com All-Rookie First Team.
