Omaha’s Parks and Recreation Department will start the hiring process next week for summer employment at various Omaha community centers and swimming pools.
Those who are interested can fill out an application and attend any interview session.
Applications also are available online at www.cityofomaha.org/parks. Candidates may bring the completed application to the interview. About 300 individuals will be hired to staff Omaha’s 2010 summer recreation programs.
The Parks and Recreation Department is hiring swimming pool staff including lifeguards, water safety instructors, pool managers, assistant pool managers and cashiers. Wages range from $8.50 to $10.25 per hour.
The city also is hiring supervisors, assistant supervisors and program specialists for the Sun Dawgs Summer Youth Program and camp counselors and camp specialists for the Hummel Park Day Camp. Individuals must be 18 to apply for Sun Dawgs or Hummel Day Camp employment. Wages range from $8.50 to $9.50 per hour.

Tuesday: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Christie Heights, 5105 S. 37th St., 444-6280; 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Mockingbird Hills, 10242 Mockingbird Drive, 444-6103.
Wednesday: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Florence, 2920 Bondesson St., 444-5216; 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Camelot Community Center, 9270 Cady Ave., 444-5972.
The interview dates, times and community center locations for Sun Dawgs and Hummel Park Day Camp are:
Tuesday: 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Sorensen, 4808 Cass St., 444-5596.
Wednesday: 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saddlebrook, 14850 Laurel Ave., 932-1080.
