Mom accused of making child porn

HOLDREGE, Neb. (AP) — A prosecutor says a Nebraska woman has been charged with making child pornography because of an inappropriate video of her son and a foster daughter that was posted online.

Deputy Phelps County Attorney Patrick Calkins said Thursday there was no nudity on the video, but it did feature children and sexual content. He says that’s why 38-year-old Sharon Masoner of Franklin was charged with a felony under child-pornography laws.

Calkins says the case does not appear to warrant prison time, but there should be a consequence for the inappropriate video, which was posted online in January 2009.

Neither Masoner nor her attorney immediately responded to messages left Thursday morning.

Masoner has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Feb. 24.
