It was “the feeling” that got Bryce Dietz.
The Lincoln North Star senior said he felt at home at a school almost 900 miles away. On Wednesday, the offensive lineman signed with Ohio.
“The Nebraska feel they have there,” Dietz said when asked what sold him on the Bobcats. “They all know how it is in Nebraska. So we got along. It’s pretty much like Nebraska, except it’s green.”
Dietz committed to Ohio, and former Nebraska head coach Frank Solich, in September. The Ohio staff also includes plenty of assistants with Nebraska ties.
The Bobcats have now signed six players from the state of Nebraska in Solich’s five seasons at the helm. Last year, Ohio landed offensive linemen Jon Lechner from Omaha Creighton Prep and James Davis from Omaha North.
