4:25 p.m.: LAWRENCE, Kan. — Welcome to Basketball Land, better known at Kansas' Allen Field House, where the fans show up two hours early and stay to the end.
FIrst, a football note. I just shook hands and chatted with new KU football coach Turner Gill — that still sounds weird — as he works the crowd. Gill is hustling. He and his new staff hosted a junior recruit day Saturday.
As for hoops, the Huskers are here.The fans barely bothered to boo, which isn't a good sign.
