Omaha Performing Arts receives $450,000 gift

At its annual meeting on Jan. 27 at Happy Hollow Country Club, the Presenters gave a check for $450,000 to Omaha Performing Arts. The Presenters is a volunteer organization that raises funds and builds awareness for Omaha Performing Arts.

Jeanie Jones, incoming president of the Presenters, presented the check to John Gottschalk, chairman of Omaha Performing Arts' board of directors and retired World-Herald publisher, and Joan Squires, president of Omaha Performing Arts. The money was raised during the 2008-09 season.

The meeting also included the presentation of the Presenters' new board members and the recognition of outgoing members.

New members are: Jones, president; Kate Grabill, president-elect; Christine Stokes, secretary; Pam Krecek, treasurer; Denise Fitzgerald, vice president community; Gabrielle Mormino, vice president fundraising; Lisa Krumwiede, vice president membership; and Danielle Bunz, adviser.
