Omaha Press Club officers elected
The Omaha Press Club held its annual meeting Jan. 20. Members elected new officers and board of directors.
New officers are Wendy Townley of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, president; Chris Allen of UNO, president-elect; Don Summerside, retired from The World-Herald, secretary; and Justin Mahoney of First National Bank of Omaha, treasurer.
Elected to the OPC board of directors were Tom Becka, KFAB Radio; Bridget Weide Brooks, Image Building Communications; Joe Radske, KPTM-TV; Nicole Lindquist, University of Nebraska Medical Center; and Liz Hruska, Nebraska Legislative Fiscal Office.
Also on the board of directors are Deborah Daley, Creighton University; Susan Eustice, Salvation Army; John Heaston, the Reader; and Cindy Jones, First National Bank of Omaha.
Women of Marian retreat set for Feb. 20
The fifth Women of Marian Retreat is scheduled for Feb. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Servite Center of Compassion in the Servants of Mary convent on the Marian High School campus.
“Compassion for Self — A Woman's Challenge” will feature three speakers: Mary Eileen Andreasen, Barbara Gehringer and Rose Fallon Roeder. There also will be group discussions, personal reflection time, a pampering hour, breakfast and lunch.
Alumnae, relatives of students and alumnae, friends and neighbors, and former Marian faculty and staff are invited to participate.
However, participants must be 21 years old or older.
Cost is $30. Since space is limited, reservations are suggested.
