    WICHITA, Kan. — Creighton shot 50 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range Sunday in a 58-48 win at Wichita State.

    The Bluejays hit 9 of 18 3-pointers, including Megan Neuvirth's 3-for-3 effort. Neuvirth led Creighton with 18 points and 10 rebounds in her fourth double-double of the season.

    Wichita State (13-9, 5-6) jumped to a 7-2 lead in the game's opening minutes, but the Bluejays (13-7, 8-3) responded with nine straight points to claim an 11-7 lead.

    Creighton led 15-11 before the Shockers used an 8-0 run to regain the lead at 19-15. With Wichita State up by five, a 10-0 spurt from the Jays gave them the lead for good, 27-22.

    Kelsey Woodard made a 3-pointer with six seconds left in the first half to give CU a 30-24 advantage at halftime — its largest lead of the first half.

    Creighton kept the momentum in its favor, opening the second half on an 11-2 run to take a 15-point lead, 41-26, not even three minutes into the half.

    The Jays hit 22 of 44 shots from the field. They were outrebounded for the first time in Valley play at 28-25.

    Sam Schuett scored 13 points and tied Chevelle Herring with a team-high five assists.

    Woodard scored seven on her 21st birthday to move her career total to 999 points.

    The Bluejays host Southern Illinois on Thursday night.
