The Omaha Police Department is not responding to crashes unless they involve injuries or pose a traffic threat.
The department announced the temporary suspension in service at about 8:45 a.m. Officers had been called to a dozen accidents since 7 a.m. Among the crashes was a school bus carrying 50 students. None were injured.
