Arrest made in Saturday slaying

An Omahan was arrested early this morning in connection with the Saturday shooting death of a 19-year-old man.

Cary L. McCarty, who will turn 20 on Saturday, was arrested about 4 a.m. on suspicion of criminal homicide, use of a gun by a felon and several moving violations.

Police have not released any information about a possible motive or what led investigators to McCarty. Police initially said McCarty lived in Illinois. They list his currect address as 5422 North 33rd Ave.

Maurice P. Parker was found injured about 11 p.m. Saturday outside Kelley's Hilltop Lanes, 1313 N. 48th Ave. He was taken to Creighton University Medical Center, where he died.

Police are investigating whether Parker's slaying was connected to the Monday shooting death of 15-year-old Everett E. Williams Jr. near 48th and Bedford Avenues.
