Christian Academy expands in Blair

The Omaha Christian Academy will launch a satellite school in Blair this fall offering kindergarten through second grade.

The satellite school, which will be known as the Blair Christian Academy, initially will operate at Country Bible Church in Blair, said Kathy Larsen, Omaha Christian Academy’s development director.

The Blair school will seek to enroll up to 28 students the first year, she said. Officials hope to add a grade each year in subsequent years.

Larsen said the Blair school will offer convenience for Blair-area parents, particularly those with younger children who want them closer to home where parents can more easily drop in for visits or attend programs. The Omaha school, near Interstate 680 and Fort Street, is about 20 minutes south of Blair.

Omaha Christian Academy has been operating as a private, nonprofit, nondenominational Christian school since 1972. The school, which offers preschool through 12th grade, will provide the Blair school with accreditation, administrative support and other resources, including hiring teachers and handling registrations.

The new school already has a half-dozen registrations in hand. For registration information and applications, contact Larsen at klarsen@ocamail.org or call 402-614-5716.
