The dog kennels are full at the Nebraska Humane Society, so the organization is offering half-price dogs and puppies for four days this week, officials said.

The dogs will be available for half-price from noon to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, said Pam Wiese, a Humane Society spokeswoman.

“It's a little crazy, because usually this time of year we're actually down on our dog numbers,” Wiese said. “But we've got great dogs of all sizes and ages that are looking for new families.

“There is a dog in every adoption kennel. Some are even buddied up. And we have some guys waiting, so we've opened up one of our back kennels, too.”

All the dogs are spayed or neutered and have microchips and initial vaccinations, she said.

The full price of adopting a dog or puppy ranges from $135 to $150 or more, according to the Humane Society's Web site. Popular breeds are the most expensive. Puppies cost more than adult dogs. Photos of adoptable pets can be seen online at www.nehumanesociety.org.
