SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) — A 47-year-old Sioux City man arrested in a child pornography case has pleaded guilty to one count of the sexual exploitation of a child.
Sengkeo Phanaphay (SENG'-ke-oh FAN'-uh-fay) entered the plea Tuesday before U.S. District Court Judge Mark Bennett in Sioux City.
Phanaphay was arrested under Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the U.S. Justice Department in 2006. He was accused of taking sexually explicit photos of an 8-year-old boy from April to June of last year.
Phanaphay could be sentenced to as long as 25 years in federal prison.
