Democratic congressional candidate Tom White is challenging Republican incumbent Lee Terry.

White gets national boost

Good news for Tom White. He's been named one of 13 Democratic congressional candidates to watch this election cycle.

White was included in the "Red to Blue" program by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on Wednesday. The program seeks to introduce congressional candidates in competitive races to national donors.

In addition, White's inclusion in the list means he will be available for strategic and grassroots support from the DCCC.

White is running against Republican Lee Terry, a six-term congressman from Omaha.

The two are expected to have one of the more competitive races in the state - a fact both of the candidate's respective parties in Washington, D.C., have underscored.

Last fall, Terry was named to the "Patriot Day" program by the National Republican Congressional Committee. His inclusion in the list meant he has received fund-raising help from the NRCC.
