New Web site for heritage searches

HASTINGS, Neb. (AP) — In an effort to attract more people to south-central Nebraska on their heritage searches, officials have set up a new Web site.

The site at SmallTownsBigDreams.com was developed by the Adams County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Hastings Museum, Webster County Convention and Visitors Bureau and other groups, with grant assistance from the Nebraska Division of Travel and Tourism.

Many families from the eastern United States and Europe settled in south-central Nebraska during the late 1800s.

Among the area attractions are the Hastings Museum, Willa Cather Foundation and Opera House and the Starke Round Barn.
