Joe Trouba had 12 of his game-high 16 points in the first half of Omaha Creighton Prep’s 71-56 win over Lincoln Southeast in the Class A third-place game at Lincoln Southwest.
Cole Martin had 13 points and Caleb Steffensmeier 12 for the Junior Jays, who finished the season 21-5. Cody Charlton topped Southeast (20-5) with 15 points.
Daniel Jenkins had 15 points and Tommie Bardsley 14 in Beatrice’s 51-49 win over Ralston in Class B. Tony Grant led the Rams with 19 points.
Minden used a 24-11 final quarter for a 65-59 win over Norfolk Catholic in C-1. Derek Kissinger scored eight of his 14 points in the final quarter and Pete Trausch scored half of his 14. Jarren Heng had 25 for the Knights.
Johnson County’s Justin Kosmicki had a tourney-high 36 points, but the Thunderbirds lost 75-71 to pre-tourney No. 1 Axtell in C-2. Nic Robison led Axtell with 19 points.
Max Renning’s 14 points led Emerson-Hubbard past Humphrey St. Francis 44-39 in D-1.
Keifer Messersmith had six 3s and 29 points for Hayes Center, which beat Hay Springs for the second straight year in the third-place game in D-2. In the 71-66 loss, Hay Springs senior Lars Backward had 22 points, and he set the D-2 record with 12 3s during the tournament.
