    Q&A with Josh Jones

The redshirt freshman guard for Creighton, a former Omaha Central standout, was at the Devaney Center cheering on his alma mater Saturday night.

Q: What did you think of the Eagles’ performance in the final?
A It was awesome. I thought they’d win it, but they dominated tonight.

Q: How about the play of senior guard Deverell Biggs?
A: He stepped up big time. He was really impressive throughout the whole tournament. The way he took over some games was crazy.

Q: Have you talked to him lately?
A: I texted him before the tournament and reminded him that it was going to take all 12 players to win it. I think he knew that already.

Q: Why has Central, Class A champ four of the past five years, been so successful?
A: I think you’ve got to give a lot of credit to (coach Eric) Behrens. We’ve had a lot of talent, and he’s done a great job of getting the most out of everybody.

Q: Any other thoughts on the state tournament?
A: It brings back a lot of memories for me. How much fun it was.

Q: How do you feel about Creighton playing in a postseason tourney?
A: I’m excited about it. We’ve got a young team, and I think it will be a good thing. I just want to keep playing ball.
