LINCOLN – The Nebraska women's basketball team received a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament Monday night, earning a first-round meeting with 16th-seeded Northern Iowa on Sunday in Minneapolis

NU (30-1) will play the Panthers at Williams Arena on the University of Minnesota campus. The Panthers (17-15) beat Creighton Sunday in the finals of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament to advance.

The Nebraska-UNI winner advances to meet No. 8 UCLA (24-8) or No. 9 North Carolina State (20-13) on March 23, with a berth in the Kansas City, Mo., regional at stake.
