Good morning. Today is Monday, March 15.

The metro could be looking at its first 50-degree day since Dec. 1.

It is expected to be cloudy for much of the day, with areas of fog this morning and a 20 percent chance of rain in the afternoon. But the mercury is expected to reach into the high 40s, possibly teetering into the 50-degree range.

News of note:

• The House's chief Democratic headcounter says he hasn't rounded up enough votes to pass President Barack Obama's health care overhaul heading into a make-or-break week - but Democratic leaders still express confidence. Dems still lacking health care votes

• In the wake of the NCAA selection show, sports writers Dirk Chatelain asks: How did the committee fail so miserably at balancing the four regions? Chatelain: Duke's draw good, but Jayhawks' is a bit rocky

Some of the day's happenings:

• Road note: Beginning at 9 a.m., drivers cannot get onto southbound Interstate 480/U.S. 75 using the Cuming Street entrance ramp. The ramp will be closed until June. Drivers still can use the Cuming Street ramp to eastbound I-480.

• Families who live in the metro's Learning Community have until the end of today to file their applications for open enrollment to the school's of their choice.

• Appleseed Cast performs two albums at the Waiting Room Lounge, 6212 Maple St., beginning at 9 p.m. Tickets: $12 at etix.com
