Lecture to focus on ‘Nebraska’s Greatest Treasure’

LINCOLN (AP) — The “Sunday with a Scientist” lecture on March 21 will focus on water.

“Nebraska’s Greatest Treasure” is the title. The presentation is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. on that Sunday, at the University of Nebraska State Museum’s Morrill Hall.

The lecturers are water education and outreach specialist Rachael Herpel of the UNL Water Center, NU Rural Initiative and UNL Extension, and program manager Jamie Oltman of The Groundwater Foundation.

Herpel and Oltman aim to help people better understand how ground and surface water systems function and interact. There also will be discussion of several surface water issues, including runoff and flooding.
