TAMPA, Fla. — The seventh-ranked University of Tampa scored six unanswered runs in the sixth and seventh innings to hand No. 16 UNO a 9-6 loss Tuesday.
Brady Hohl's two-run single highlighted a four-run fifth as the University of Nebraska at Omaha took a 6-2 lead in the top of the sixth. But the Spartans regained the lead in the bottom half of the inning, scoring five runs on four hits to take an 8-6 lead they wouldn't relinquish.
Hohl finished with four RBIs to pace the Mavericks (11-5), who have lost three straight. Tampa (23-5) won its 11th consecutive game.
UNO will return to action in its home opener Saturday, facing MIAA rival Truman State for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
