One person was taken in critical condition from the scene of a kitchen fire in an apartment fire near 108th and Maple Streets on Tuesday evening.
Fire officials said the victim was breathing but suffering from smoke inhalation.
The fire, reported just before 8 p.m., forced the evacuation of several units inside one building at the west Omaha apartment complex at 11111 Cottonwood Plaza.
It appears no one will be displaced overnight, fire officials said.
