YORK, Neb. (AP) -- A 24-year-old sex offender who faced up to five years in prison instead got 60 days in jail for failing to properly register information with Nebraska authorities.
Chad Staehr, who now lives in La Vista, had pleaded no contest last month to the felony charge in York County District Court.
In court on Monday, Staehr also was given two years of intensive supervised probation.
Staehr originally was sentenced in 2006 to three years' probation for attempted first-degree sexual assault.
As a registered sex offender, Staehr has to follow a strict reporting regimen regarding his residential address, job and other information.
York County prosecutors say Staehr failed to correctly verify some information between July 1, 2008, and Jan. 22, 2009.
