Four Creighton players have been named to the 10-member Academic All-District VII women's basketball team: Kellie Nelson and Sam Schuett on the first team and Megan Neuvirth and Kelsey Woodard on the second team. Schuett also was chosen for the Missouri Valley's Scholar-Athlete first team, while Nelson and Neuvirth were named to the Valley's second team, and Woodard was honorable mention.
Nelson and Schuett are eligible for Academic All-America status. No other school in District VII had more than two representatives among the 10, and no other Missouri Valley Conference school had more than two players recognized in any district.
The College Sports Information Directors of America vote on the all-district team. To be nominated, a player must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average. Players must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games.
Nelson, an Omaha Westside graduate, carries a 3.88 GPA in mathematics. Schuett, a Millard West graduate, owns a 3.77 GPA in accounting.
Neuvirth, a West Point Central Catholic graduate, has a 3.36 GPA in marketing and human resource management. Woodard carries a 3.79 GPA in finance.
