AMES, Iowa — Meredith Skitt, a Missouri high school soccer star at St. Joseph’s Academy in St. Louis, has signed with Iowa State for next season, coach Wendy Dillinger said.

Skitt, a midfielder and defender, also played for a club team, Scott Gallagher Soccer Club, and helped the team win four Missouri State Cup titles. In addition, Skitt has played for the Missouri Olympic Development team.

In her three years with St. Joseph’s Academy, Skitt helped lead second-place and third-place finishes at the Missouri state high school championships.

“She is versatile and can play anywhere on the field,’’ Dillinger said. “Her understanding of the game on the big scale gives her the ability to be in the right place at the right time.’’
